KIRKDALE  CEMETERY

             

The two photographs are the two sections of the grave of Hector and Jemima Ritchie. Also buried in the grave is Mary Ritchie. Mary( Mary Ross Ritchie, nee Abernethy )  was the mother of Hector Ritchie and first wife to Hector Mitchell Ritchie.

This grave is in Kirkdale cemetery, in Aintree, Liverpool. In the interests of safety, (soft earth) the cemetery authorities have laid the two sections of the gravestone on the ground. The grave is number 49 in the 'Non-comformist' Section no.5

Hector Mitchell Ritchie is buried with his second wife in  Ainsdale Cemetery, Nr.Southport.

 

A 'BOND' and a 'SINCLAIR'  GRAVE STONE

                                               

                                

This left hand headstone is rather weather beaten. It is no. 201 in Section 3 in Kirkdale Cemetery.

The right hand headstone is also weathered. It is no. 386 in Section 3 in Kirkdale Cemetery. The details are below.

The inscription for the left hand stone  reads as follows:-

In loving memory of THOMAS BOND husband of ELIZABETH who died Dec 28th 1906 aged 71.

 Also ELIZABETH widow of the above who died January 5th 1918 in her 80th year, 

Also MARY , daughter of the above who died August 16th 1890  aged 24,

Also GRACE THOMAS beloved eldest daughter of THOMAS  and ELIZABETH BOND who died June 12th 1922 aged 66 years.

 

A 'SINCLAIR' Gravestone

The inscription on the right hand stone reads as follows:-

In loving memory of WILLIAM SINCLAIR of Kirkdale who departed this life 28 July 1889 aged 46.

Also, his children       WILLIAM  B.              aged 1 year.

                                     ALEXANDER L.B. aged 10 days

                                     ANDREW W.B.       aged 2 years

Also ANDRNA MARGARET wife of the above who passed away 13th January 1906 aged 66 years.

(Note...Although children are mentioned, are they buried here?)

 

A 'HUGHES Gravestone

                       

This is the photo of the gravestone, in Gresford Cemetery, of Percy Hughes, his wife Mary Catherine (May), and their daughter Eileen. Mary Catherine (May) was born Mary Catherine Wineyard. Further details are on page 22 .
